Some  pretty people
have a  pretty mind too

(The original   was written possibly by subha sri    who has posted a suitable picture   for this story. This has  also been posted  by very many other people.Apart from
translating her post I am borrowing   the
picture she has posted. Thanks to her)
Vasanthi   was a
beauty   , slim and fair in colour,
And her Mala   was
brownish  and slightly stout,
Vasanthi   used to
wear  modern fashionable dresses,
And Mala used to dress
clean but  not costly dress
They both   used to
travel  in a local train   to their office,
And as soon they sit
Vasanthi would   start reading
beauty tips  ,
And Mala , slightly spiritual   used to read
stotra books,
To avoid
boredom   from hearing  beauty
tips.
After they get down , they had   to go
through an over bridge,
And Vasanthi daily  used to approach  a person with
weighing machine ,
Pay rupees   two
weigh herself   and tell  Mala  ,
how,
She has  put on
weight   and how she should reduce food.
That day
Vasanthi     did not take any
lunch , took fruit juice,
And Mala unable
to   bear the vanity  of a friend
shouted at her ,
“You are pretty
and do not need to see
weight    twice daily,
While coming   to
office   and   while going
back home.”
Vasanthi with a smile
patted   the back of her   friend and said,
“Have you ever observed
the man  who keeps  the
weighing machine,
Possibly you may not know   that he is blind   and
is doing this job,
Instead of begging
and  out of pity, I am seeing  my weight twice  .”
