Read the story to know your wealth, number of children and age .

Read the story to know  your  wealth, number of children and age .

By
P.R.Ramachander

(I read it in Tamil in a face book message .It is told by THiru Muruga Krupaanda Variaar , who  lived all his life  teaching religion  and way to live,)

There   was a great sage   who only   told truth,
And  ate  only  in a home  where  truth is told.
One day when he went   to a village   and wanted to eat,
And told about this, they showed   the home of a  rich ,
AS well as old  merchant, who had   four sons.”

As soon  as the sage went there   the merchant  ,
Came running  to hospitably receive   him and give him food,
But the  sage told him  , “I only eat in a home  where  truth is told”,
And the  merchant assured  him that  he only told the truth.

The sage wanted   to test  the merchant   about that  and,
He asked ”How much wealth you have?”  and he told “Twenty two thousand rupees”
Saint again asked “How many children you have.” And he said , only one sir”.
And saint asked  “How old are  you?”  and he said ,”three years
Five months, seven hours and sixteen and a  half hours”

The sage got livid with rage and when he   was about to walk out,
The merchant told him   that  he had only said the  truth and nothing but truth,
And the saint asked him, “Others say   you have one lakh rupees wealth”,
And the merchant told, “Yes, that  is the money in my box , but,
I have given only twenty two thousand as charity so far ,
And that is the only wealth   that  would be mine even when I die.”

The sage asked “People say you have   four sons” and the merchant said,
“Four were born to me  and I will summon them before   you now and he called,
“Hey Nataraj” and he replied , “Father  I am playing cards  and cannot come now”
Then he called “Hey Velu” and he said “Why are  you shouting, shut up”
Then he called “Hey Siva” and he said, “Hey fool, why don’t you die”
And then he called “Hey Muruga” and the boy came running to  help him:,
And then the merchant told , “Do you now   agree  that  I have only one son.”

The sage  then asked, “You look about 70 years old  and what about ,
The non sense   you told ?”  and then the merchant told  him,
“Every day I worship God  only for one and half hours,
After  the age   of attaining   ten years  of age  and I believe,
That this is my age  and multiplied by sixty  I told you my  total age,”
The sage was convinced that  it was truth and ate in his home.

This story   tells us all  that what money we gave in charity only is ours,
The son  who respects  us and obeys  us is our only son,
And the ime  we spend in worship is the time   we have really lived.,
This  was a great story by  the great Thiru Muruga Kripananda  Varriaar.

You may change but your heart will not

You may change but your heart  will not

By
P.R.Ramachander

(Thanks  Radhakrishna Bhagavathar    for  the story)

There  was mouse  in a sage’s hermitage,
And this mouse   was scared  of  cats ,
And so   it said to the sage , “I am scared of the cat,
Change me to a cat”  and the sage said “Amen”

That cat got scared  of a street  dog and requested,
The sage “I am scared  of the dog  and so change me to a dog”,
And sage  said “amen”,  and the dog  got scared  of a tiger ,

Got changed in to a tiger   and scared of a hunter it became a hunter.

Hammer , own key , other key and a lock

Hammer  , own key , other key and a lock

By
P.R.Ramachander

(A pretty idea  got from a face book post. Thanks to the author)

One day a hammer   asked the key,
“I am stonger   than you   but  ,
I struggle   to open a  lock,
How come   you open it so quickly?”

The key   replied “You are stronger  than me,
But to open the lock, you hit  on its head ,
And it protests  , but  I  am  his own,
And I touch his  heart  and so it opens its heart.

But had I not  been its own but a stranger ,
Even if I touch its  heart  , it will not open its heart.”
This  only  proves  that love from their  own,
Would  open hearts up but from others, it would protest.”

Surrender to Him, He will lead you

Surrender  to Him, He will lead you

Translated by
P.RRamachander

(The concept of surrender   and the fact that we will only suffer , if we do not do is brought out in this great write up in Tamil, which is given below my translation)

Bullock cart   does not have life  ,
Bullocks have  life as well as wisdom,
But the cart man hitches  the lifeless  cart to the wise  Bullock,
And would decide  where to go and drive it towards  that place.
How far , for how long and  how much load  is decided by the cart man.

Though wise , though it carries  ,Bullock cannot do anything,
And like that the , body the cart is hitched  to  the  wise soul,
And is driven by the   cart man called  God,
He decided , He drives and he makes the man to go and man goes

He drives and man acts  ,
For how many years   and how much time  ,
Is  being decided  by God only,
This is the design   that has  been formulated  by God

This is the assignment    given to us by God,
To the one who realizes this  , there  is no sorrow,
To the one who does not realize  this , there  is no peace,
Lead your life  with prosperity, Lead it with joy and then good  only will happen,
And  till we do this , our  journey would continue happily.

Wishful wishes-a tamil poem

A poem from Aval vIkatan

Translated by
P.R.Ramachander

This was a song popular and published in 2005,to welcome the New year, and holds good today also (From post of my friend Sri.Vasu Iyengar)

The scarcity   to water  should end ,
The prices  of God should come down,
Tv Serials  without tears  should be shown,
The children should take  food without crying.

Every week we should  go for a pleasure trip,
WE should be able to do shopping  as much as we want,
We should have servants     who do not fight ,
Husband should help   us   in kitchen

WE should become thin without walking,
There should not be  any vulgar  cinema,
WE should have lady friends without connections,
WE should have  relatives  who should not trouble

WE should be in family  way without nausea,
WE should be able   to take a  short nap at noon,
The bills for groceries  should come down,
WE should have happiness  ebven at month end,

Oh God we want, we want,
Would you bring an end to all  our problems,
Oh God  please  give a new year gift ,

Of a life   filled with a smile.

Flute and Football

Social service  is like a Flute,
Selfishness  is like a  Football,
Both of them work   with air ,
We kick the football,
WE kiss   the flute  ,
Beacuse the football keeps the air  for its own self,
The flute gives out the air  and entertains others,
Selfish  person would be ignored,
Person who does service to society   would be praised,

Translated from a face book post  by P.R.Ramachander

God does not want us to be beggars before him.

God does not want us  to be beggars  before him.

BY
P.R.Ramachander

(God made me see  the post of Hamsabai Santhana Krishnan  and he told me read this  and then rewrite it in a way  that I have taught you. I did and I thank God  for making me walk by that wway.God, Thank you.)

From God, I requested for strength , God gave me  troubles,
“Fight   and get over them” , He said, “You will get strength”
From God  I requested for wisdom , God  gave me problems ,
“Try and solve all of them ,” , He said  “you will get wisdom.”

From God, I requested for wealth , God showed  me myself,
“Think and work, “ He said, “Wealth   would come by itself.”
From God  , I requested  for courage, God gave  me dangers .
“Meet all of them”, He said  ,”Courage would come  by itself.”

From God , I requested  for satisfaction, He  showed me all that he has provided,
“Share  all this  with others  who lack them”, He said, “you  will get satisfaction”,
From God  I   requested  for health , He showed me , people  who work ,
“Ceaselessly  work like them, “He said, “You  will never lack  strength”

I realized  that the   God does  not  give anything free,
He does  not want us  all to become   beggars  ,
He shows us the way  to get what  we want  in a honest  way,
And provides  us all that  we need  to travel by that way.

We have not created soil, We have  not created sun light,
We are incapable  of making or stopping  a  rain fall,
And if we want grains, we cannot  expect God to plough and sow for us ,
And if we want wisdom, we cannot expect  God to run a school and compel us to study

So pray  and after you pray , open your  eyes of wisdom,
And wait , God   would definitely    show   you the way ,
Obey him , act along  various  ways  shown by him  to get all that we need,
You will succeed and then feel satisfied  about your own self  and then tell him, “Thank you God” .

Examine  carefully  as to what you have asked   and what he got by walking his way ,
You would realize, that  you  yourself  are  the cause  for the difference,
Do not blame yourself  or God  but tell God  , “Sorry God  , I did not succeed,
But I would again   and again  do what you have  told  and  would definitely succeed.
