However  much mother scolds  ,

This  minds takes it lightly

But  if father  says one  word

Our mind would become heavy

Our eyes  would  become  filled with tears

This is  the specialty  of all fathers

 

Our mind    which does not get upset

When mother boasted about,

What  all things she did to  bring us up,

Would get upset  and completely melt,

If   father looks at  us with sorrow,

Because  there is so much meaning in it

 

Mother  would struggle  to cook tasty  food for us

She  would   sacrifice all to take  care of us,

But if father  slightly  fondles our hair for a second,

It is some thing different

And all our pain  would   fly away

 

He  normally  talks less

Some times  he will shout at us

He will ask money  to praise us

But  in our absence  , he will say,

“My daughter  is matchless,

My   son is matchless”

And when some  one tells about it to us,

All our  anger   to him will  fly away

 

Father , who by us  pretty cloths

And   enjoy our beauty

Never takes  any costly   dress  for himself

But with love when  we buy any thing for him,

Tons  of joy  would make his   face glow,

A father  will take  care  of  those gifts,

Which his children gave as if it  is  a biggest  diamond

 

The God who  gave a heart  to every one

For fathers   gave  instead  dreams

Which all the  time dreamt  ,

Of the   future  of all his children

 

The tears  of joy  of the father’s eye

Is completely reserved  for his children

 

Time will fly , years  will run,

The fathers who caught  our baby fingers

Who lifted us up on their  shoulders,

Hiding before us  , all his wounds

Would become  puffed with pride

Seeing  our progress and  one thing is true

Long back, when I was  young,

I had to  visit Mumbai  , city of dreams

And  I as usual , went  to Krishna mama’s home

Which   was  very  near  Chembur  Station

 

Mama went   to office  and  me  and Mami went to market

And Mami suddenly   went  near  a hawker ,

Who was  selling   small  mirrors, comb and other things,

Picked   up a mirror and saw  herself

 

Then   she asked  for   kumkum  from the hawker,

Saw  the mirror   and put   a thilak on her forehead,

And gave  both  of them back, saying  not good quality

And  when we  walked  a little  further  smiled and told

 

‘Hey Raja, I neither  needed  the mirror  nor kumkum,

But  I forgot  to  wear  pottu   while   coming  out”

When I started  laughing , mami  told,

“I did not   want to walk back , all the way home”

 

That  day  I enjoyed  it a lot and now  only  I realize ,

That when I was  young  so  was my  very dear  Mami.

As she   was  just  two  years  older than me.

My  daughter is   the  huge  treasure  of unending affection

But    for   her  , life   would have  been an arid desert

When I say  to her, “Darling I feel like having kheer tomorrow”

Just   as a joke   though   it was not   my or her birthday,

Next day   before  noon , a huge  vessel  of kheer  would be on my table.

When I look   worried, she   understands  something is wrong,

Rushes to my side   and pesters  to tell , “why”

And if  I tell   some silly   reason like  an old man of my age,

She laughs and tells me , “Throw that   silly ball of worry  to me,

I will  make   a pretty   bouquet  of flowers and make  you happy

When I look  slightly sick, Tears  rush  in to daughter’s eyes,

She runs through her memory   brings  some medicine to cure me,

And  if I am not cured, she   will  drive  me   to our  doctor,

And When he   asks  “What  is the problem?,With tears  in eyes,

She tells  him, “My  papa is sick, I am not able  to eat  or sleep?”

Some  one told me  ‘It is daughter’s day   today  , Don’t you wish her?”

I laughed,”though   for  me  there is  no daughter’s day,

Because  , ever   since   she was   born , my life  is Daughher’s life,

And every  moment  of my this elderly  life  , it is my  Daughter’s moment,

I  would  very much  like  to wish , “happy  daughter’s day  for ever, my dear”

    Do not like  Father’s adamant  nature

    Do  not like Father looking at me

     Do like   father’s advice

     Do not like   father’s  interference

 

Father is a bundle of  troublesome  things

 

     Father started ifting his responsibility of his family after  his marriage

     Father had to tell good bye to several of his likes  after marriage

 

    Among his life suffocated  by quarrels among his  wife  and his own close relations,

   Father had to stifle all his emotions  and suffer

   For the   sake of unity of his family, for peace   and  to carry on his  responsibilities  properly

            

   After  marriage, he had to struggle   to build their own house

   He had to educate  his children from LKG  onwards,

   Filled with great  expectations  and affectionate love

 

   Inspite  of that when he  became old and lost his health

   Father  becomes alone in his life, with even his wife on the other side

    He started  feeling he was  a nuisance   for his family

    Seeing the children only wanting his   wife not him

 

    No one understands   that poor man 

     Who has   sacrificed   all his desires and dreams

And had spent all his life    for sake of his   family

 

This is not the problem of just one man,

Take  a round and you will see millions like  him

 

People  will sing  about greatness  of mother, and forget about father

Sons will see  crying mother  but never notice   the crying father

 

All children know  how mother  carried  them ten months

And had to suffer great  pain  to give birth to them several times

 

But they will never know   how much extra work a father did  ,

To  buy  hundred of things   to keep them healthy

They will never know how   their father  sat in rain,

Outside the delivery hospital,and suffered all  sort of sufferings

 

No child ever things that  their father sacrificed for them,

They would never heard how   their father  worked 20 hours a day,

So  that  , he could happily give them   all that they want

 

They think about river called mother but forget  the ocean called father

 

Generally people think that fathers do not have affection

And it also   is not proper for  him to show it

 

Suppose   A father  tries to advice his children,
he will sit aghast

Before a mother   who tells him that it is not proper for him to advice

And this ofeten make s him lonely  and shut himself in a room

With his lap top  for his company

 

Once in a while see deep in to eyes of the father

You will see hope , pain and anguish there

 

The boy children will  un derstand him only  when they become a father

But by that  time , the time would have  become late, too late
