My wife is no more

 Dear friends

My darling  wife, Jayalakshmi (called Chellam)who was  an expert in chanting Narayaneeyam, Bhagawatham, Sundara kandam, Thirupugazh  etc etc ,a great expert  in embroidery  and crochet and all  sorts  of hand work and  super cook  is no more with me  and Who was my  everything  is no more  with me

She  suffered  from cancer  for two years  and our daughter  Meera ,

With whom I lived went  on struggling   and devoting   all her time ,

so that  her amma  could  be  with  her again .When her mother  became

serious   she took  half day  leave from her job and  when she  became  more

serious  she  took one  month  leave  without pay

Our son Ramesh  who  is working  inFlorida  came  four times  in a year to see  her

and help his  sister  and mother. He  worked  hard to  get his mother cured

My  grand  daughters Maithree  and  Yamini, Set  apart  all their  time  to make her happy

And came  several times  during the year  to make  their ammamma happy  and see  her smile

My Daughter  in law  Sangeetha  and grand sons Rohan and Rahul  came  and stayed with her

for  a long time and made  her happy

My son in law  venkatesan was more like a son to both of us  and struggled  equally  hard  to get  her cured

Each  and every one of  us  miss her and crying  within our heart

My chellam  would  have  reached  the  heaven of the  feet of Guruvayurappan,

I wrote:-

My  golden Chellam , you  were   my only   companion and friend

And I I always felt  like   singing . “Jaya reme , Manorame , mama dehi Karavalambam*”.

And even without that  singing , you knew  that without you,

I  was not even a big zero  but a   tiny , tiny   nothing,

But you did not mind  for   you became    to me ,

Friend , nurse , guide  , manager  and a  psychotherapist,

And you did not mind   all these  jobs  ,

For  you wanted  to be my everything  till both of us part.

You did  go away  my  precious wife who was  my everything

Leaving  me alone but  in the  care of our daughter  and son,

And  in the  loving  nest  of  our  grand daughters,

And I  would live   with you in mind , till god calls me back.

Once  I wrote  about  her

You  were  sweet Mummy to my kids , capable nurse to my parents,

Great manager  of all  my affairs  including wealth ,

A wonderful  cook , whom I could not miss  even for a day,

And teacher    and  trainer   to  my kids  when they grew up,

But  I was  just another   scientist   and nothing else .

Parents  mine and that  of yours bid farewell when their time came,

And the kids   in our home developed   wings and flew   away,

Leaving both of us   in the  lonely   hellish  nest   that we are in today,

And my office decided  that  this oldie  is of no use  and should retire.

and friend
