A poem to father

A poem to the father

Translated by

P.R.Ramachander

A mother  would make  me feel  ,

Her  affection  in many many ways,

But father would  make you feel,

Just  by pressing  your hand.

He has  never told me  before me,

I have heard it only  from others

That  he feels very proud of me ,

And has  found  no words  ,

To tell  how  much he loves  me

Though   mother  has scolded ,

Me umpteen times , I never felt about it

But once  my  father’s  face fades,

It has  touched me a lot  immediately

Only when all my friends  tell me

“Do you know  how great is your father?”

Then only  I did  realize that ,

I have got a father , that,

No one else  has got

Possibly  God has  sent father,

To immediately  fulfill  even,

A speck of your  desire.

What  would  my father , who has,

Taught  me how  to walk   and live,

Thought   when , I provided  him,

Support  to walk , due to his age .

Whenever  people  have asked me  ,

“are  you pet of father  or pet of mother?”

I had told them  with  great pride,

Father’s pet , who was mother’s pet”

But today  after  he  has left  me ,

Whose  pet I am?

Though millions  tell me ,

“I am there  for you,

Who ever  can ever support ,

Me  like  my father?’\

He never told me  to do anything

He   has never , ever  scolded me even once

He never   told me  not to do ab=nything,

But by some thing , his face controlled me”

I have  never showed,

Nor has  he showed,

Our  affection to each other,

But to wipe  away  the flowing tears,

Which heralds  it to all,

My  father  is no more there.

Show  yor affection to father,

And your unending love  to your mother

Today itself,

For after   some times  ,

He may not be there to hear it.

A poem to the mother

A poem to the mother

(translation of a great poem https://eluthu.com/kavithai/353979.AA

)

You are not just my  relation, you are my soul

For you’re your sacrifice  , would this  day,

Only be sufficient , mother

Definitely   no mother

Even if I lay  below your feet for ever

For the sacrifice  that you did  , it  would not be suffeccient

A day  marked  for you?

Daily  I have  to celebrate ,

You  with gusto  , oh mother

I will carry you  , who carried  me,

Till I am alive  , oh mother

Hiding within herself,

All her   worries,

Carrying me  in your belly

You breathed for sake of me  to breath

Just like  pearl in side  a shell,

You  hugged, and hugged and brothu  me up

You are one  , who,

Has  endless affection to me.

You gave  your lap to me,

So that  I can sleep

I have troubled  you a lot,

I also have  got angry with you

But  you, forgetting all that ,

Would ask me  through  your cell phone

With voice  drenched  in affection.

“Hey son, why have you not come to take lunch?”

In this world   only affection of mother,

Can  win  over all anger.

Even if  I roll all those who love me  ,

In this world, No one  can love me  ,

Like you  , Oh dear  mother?

All relations   who live around me,

Would eat their dinner  and sleep,

But even   deep in the night  ,

Without taking food  ,

You would  wait for me mother,

I cracked  my brain again and again,

“What  have I ever   done to you?”

Except  having born from your belly.

I have done  nothing to you , oh mother!

All the poems  , all over  the world  ,

Would get defeated  before ,

The great one word poem , “mother”, oh mother

She is the one  who shed  tears for you,

Please   never  make  , shed  tears ,

Thinking about you?..!

Till  the days  that  she is alive  ,

Please  look after  her  ,

Without  any problem to her

My poem is  dedicated  to,

All mothers  on earth

To my dear  mother ,

“Happy mother’s day “ greetings

Oh mother  ,]

Till  now   I have not told you,

“I love  you  , oh my dearest mother”

Why Dharma sastha keeps his finger on his nose

Why Dharma sastha  keeps  his finger on his nose

Translated by

P.R.Ramachander

Once king   of Vijayanagar  visited  a Sastha temple,

Along with Vaishnava  Thathachari   and Appayya Deekshitha,

They all say that lord Sastha was keeping his finger  over his nose

And People there told , if real reason  for that is told, he will remove his finger

Then Vaishnava  Thathachari told:-

विष्णोः सुतोहं विधिना समोहं धन्यस् ततोहं सुर सेवितोहम्
तथापि भूतेश सुतोहम् एतैर् भूतैर्व्त चिन्तयतीह शास्ता

Vishno suthoham , Vidhinaa  samoham

Dhanyas thathoham  , Sura  sevithoham

Thadhaapi  bhoothesa  suthoham, yethair

Bhoothair vruthas chinthayatheeha  sasthaa

I am son of Vishnu  , equal to lord  Brahma

Because of it I am honourable  And I am served  by devas

And also I am son of Lord Shiva,  the  lord  of the Bhoothas

And so I am surrounded by  Bhoothasand so Sastha  is thoughtful

Appaya  Deekshitha  told  :-

Ambethi Gaurim  Aham aahvayaami

Pathnya  pithur   mathara  yeva sarvaa

Kadham nu Lakshmim   ithi    chinthayantham

Saasthaaram  eede sakalartha sidhyai

I call  goddess  Gauri  as my mother,

Because wife  of father is mother to all

And I am thinking   Ihow I will address  Mahalakshmi

(who happens   to be  the wife of my mother)

And The God satha grants  all occult  powers

Lord Sastha   took the finger from his nose  and the king was greatly satisfied

Sage advises bird way to cross ocean

Sage  advises  bird  way to cross ocean

By

P.R.Ramachander

One  pretty bird approached  a sage,

And said that  it wanted  to cross the ocean,

Which is thousand miles  wide ,

And visit  a pretty island on the other sde

The sage said   that  it would be difficult ,

For the bird   to fly that  far off   and advised,

Try to fly but once  you  feel tired ,

Return back   to here itself

He told   his disciple  who was near by

When you feel you are  tired  ,

You must have lost  half your strength

And so to save yourself, you should return

After  a week   the bird returned back  and said,

After  flying on hundred  miles   in to the ocean,

I felt very tired   and returned  back ,

Had I not  , I would have fallen in the sea and died

Again the bird came   and the sage  told him,

This time  take   along   with you  ,

Your companion who is your wife ,

But return once both of you are  tired

After  two weeks   the birds  came back ,

And told him, we flew   together four hundred miles,

Felt tired  and   we  decided  to come back,

But we  both want   to go once  more

The sage gave them  a stick  to carry,

Told them , whenever  you feel tired,

Put it in the water, take rest  on that floating stick,

And again fly  till you reach  the pretty island

After  two months   the birds  came back,

Full of joy and   told him  , we went to that island,

And we came  back  thanks  to you and the sage  asked,

Was the stick   very heavy  for   you to carry

They said, most of the time  one of us carried it,

And in some places, we carried it together,

Some times we fought  , put the stick in water,

And took rest and we realized  that the stick was carrying us

Vaishnava  Thatha chari told:-

The disciple   asked the sage why,  and he told,

Going alone we get tired soon, together  we could travel more

The stick made them fight   and also gave  them rest,

Though   many times  they felt it was a burden ,

One person will not be able to cross ocean of life easily,

Even two    of them who  are  companions cannot

But once they have   the stick of family  life they can,

Though the family life was heavy and made them fight.
