(Here  is a revolutionary  poem   written  before 1921  with revolutionary  ideas which are  true  even to day

Cats  have different  coloured  kittens  , are they not cats,  asked the  great poet,-caste difference

Can we  blind one  of our two  eyes-Neglecting women?

I searched on line  , I could not get  english translation of this great  revolutionary poem? I must be wrong)

வாழ்வுகள் தாழ்வுமில்லை...என்றும் ..மாண்புடன் வாழ்வோமடா ...

There  was  white  cat  , which was   growing  in our  home

That cat gave birth to kittens, They  were  each of a different colour

 

சாம்பல் நிறமொரு குட்டி - கருஞ் சாந்து நிறமொரு குட்டி

பாம்பு நிறமொரு குட்டி - வெள்ளைப் பாலின் நிறமொரு குட்டி

எந்த நிறமிருந் தாலும் - அவை யாவும் ஒரேதர மன்றோ?

இந்த நிறம்சிறி தென்றும் - இஃது ஏற்றமென் றுஞ்சொல்ல லாமோ?

 

Sambal niram oru  kuti –Karum chanthu  niramoru  kutti

Pambu niramoru  kutti –vellai  paalin  niramoru kutti

Yentha  niramirunthaalum-Avai  yaavum   ore  tharam  andro

Indha  niram  chirithendrum, Ikthu  yetham  yendrum  chollalaalo?

 

One  kitten was of ash colour  , One  of the colour  of dark  black

One was of the colour of snake, another was  the colour  of white milk

Whatever  may their colour  , are  they  not of one sort

Can we  say, this colour is great  and this colour  is bad

 

சாதி பிரிவுகள் சொல்லி - அதில் தாழ்வென்றும் மேலென்றும் கொள்வார்

நீதி பிரிவுகள் செய்வார் - அங்கு நித்தமும் சண்டைகள் செய்வார்.

சாதி கொடுமைகள் வேண்டாம், - அன்பு தன்னிற் செழித்திடும் வையம்;

சாதி கொடுமைகள் வேண்டாம், - அன்பு தன்னிற் செழித்திடும் வையம்;

 

Jathi  pirivukal  solli  , athil thaazhvendrum , melendrum kolvar

Neethi  pirivukal  cheivar-Angu  nithamum  chandaikal  cheivar

Jathi  kodumaikal  vendaam, Anbu thannir  chezhithidum vayyam

Jathi  kodumaikal  vendaam, Anbu thannir  chezhithidum vayyam

 

Telling  differences in castes, they said one was high   and another  low

They  will have  differences  in law and they will  daily  make  quarrels  there

Let there not be terrorizing , The world will  grow well in love
