I joined Annamalai university, mathematics department for studying B.Sc(Hons) in 1957
Our Professor was the renowned Dr.V.Ganapathi iyer (who was president of Indian Society of Mathematics for several years). He was a specialist in Mathematical, Analysis
The next important senior reader was Dr.G.Sankara narayanan who used to teah usMathematical statistics.I happened to visit him in Chidambaran after more than 30 years,The simple great scholar of Statistics invited me and family to his house and gave us a fantastic lunch
Dr,V,Ganesan was our lecturer of modern algebra, which subject was very new to him and to us.The subject was tough and abstract. He taught us so well that I scored 100% in that subject in my final exams
Dr.(Miss) N.Radha was another Reader of our University who taught us Geometry
DR.Padmanabhan taught us the tough subject of Mechanics .It was more tough to me because I had not studied Physics in intermediate. Students used to say that he was extremely orthodox ,
Dr.R.Unni used to teach us calculus, which is relatively easy subject
DrKannappan used to teach us Trignometry
I located the farewell group photo with my teachers,It was taken in year 1960
I owe what I am to these stalwart teachers who ladi the firm foundation in each subject
My humble namaskarams to each of those
