Some  tid bits  about  Kashmir  Hinduism

Gunadhya  wrote  “Brihath katha (Very huge story)”  in Paisachi (savage)   dialect  in Kashmir  . This is perhaps  the only  book, which is reported  to have been written, in the unrefined  dialect  of Sanskrit.

The only  history  book  about  a Royal family  in India was  written   by  Kalhana  in Kashmir and is called  the  Raja  THarangini

The  oldest  republic  in India   existed  in Kashmir (Khamboja)

At the  time of Adhi SAnkara , Kashmir   was believed  to be   a land of great scholars.He is supposed  to have visited  Kashmir, defeated all the  scholars  and was recognized   as the  greatest   scholar

Swami  Ramanuja   is supposed  to have  written his commentary  of  Brahma  Sutras  , after  goibg to Kashmir to consult the Bodhayana Vritti 

Lord  Hanuman  , as per instructions of Goddess  Maharagya , took   away her  as per instructions   and consecrated  her  in Kashmir  , near  Srinagar. This  was  the greatest BHavani  temple in India  and Adhi Sankara  has   sung  two great stotras  on this BHavani  .She is now called  Khir Bhavani , and is the most important  Goddess  of Kashmiri  Pundits .Swami Vivelananda  is supposed  to have visited  this temple. The  water  of the well  of this temple  has   been reported  to turn red   and back to normal   some times

There  is advaithic and thanthric   branch of Shaivism which is  peculiar   to  Kashmir.The  great scholar  Abhinava  Guptha  is supposed  to be associated with it.

The famous  poetess Lalleswari   is the author  of Hindu folk poetry   called Laal Vakhs  ,She is also called   Lal Ded, Mother Lalla, Lalla Aarifa, Lal Diddi, Laleshwari, Lalla Yogishwari and Lalishri.

It  is believed  by some   that  Jesus Christ came  to Kashmir  and learnt   hindu  religion there .He was  called  EEsaa Nabi
