Tamil   Brahmins   spread   all over the world , as  cooks, priests  ,

Software  engineers, poets, writers, experts in English ,

Are very religious people    as well  as atheists and communists,

Artists , lawyers   chartered  accountants   and  auditors.

AS ancient poets  of Tamil  ,  they    nurtured Tamil  ,

As scholars  they    searched   all over  and saved  Tamil  literature

They  also contributed a lot    to modern Tamil literature ,

AS great poets, short   story writers and novelists.   

They  nurtured   music as    well   as art  forms  ,

Like drawing , dramas , films   and fashion technology,

They spread to all  neighbouring states   and,

Were honoured   there by the people  for their honesty and knowledge.

They  were  identified    by the British     as honest  and efficient,

And were  given employment  in all  government departments ,

Because of their  honest   they slogged   for their masters,

Never  getting   a  taint     of corruption and takers of bribes .

They loved   their country and stood    shoulder to shoulder ,

With   the great Mahatma, went and filed all jails,

They joined   the  Indian national   army  ,

Fought   with all  brave Indians  and were killed

They were   the first   persons  in the entire  Tamil Nadu,

Who  ate  feast with  the Dalits , they fought   tooth and nail,

To  admit   those who were   not allowed   entry in to temples,

Inside temples  and they  were   the ones who started  caste  eradication,

One day   some one     decided   to call  them non Tamilians,

At that time they smiled with tears  in their eyes.

One day   someone decided  that  they were exploiters,

And told them no more government   employment for them.

Within a few   years  there   were no government officials  ,

Who were   below the age   of forty five years  old  ,

And then they started   to work more and more hard ,

To get jobs    all over India  as    efficient  workers.

One day  some leaders decided  to   hate them,

Saying that   they were   the hateful Aryans,

And though  most of them did not know   Sanskrit,

Those leaders   told that were speaking northern language.

From the entire South of India  , they got   for the country    

Three Nobel prizes , one of the  greatest chess player of the world,

A mathematical genius , some of the greatest   cricket players,

One of  top agricultural scientist  , who wiped the  hunger of our country

They were pictuarised  as buffoons  in   Tamil cinema  , and their diction,

Was made fun of by all and sundry,  and their   ritualistic dress ,

Which they considered holy , was used for dancing  vulgar dances,

In most of the pictures    but they never  bothered   about all this.

In schools , in colleges   and in offices  people call them ,

“Paarppan”.  Their sacred   thread    was cut for no reason at all,

And they were  considered  as the soul guardians  of Orthodox religion,

But they are still waiting   thinking  “One day all this  will   change.

But  the  tamil  Brahmins     who  long ago migrated to   Kerala called  “Palakkad iyers”

The tamil   Brahmins who migrated   to Karnataka called “Sankethis   and Kolar iyers”

And the Tamil Brahmins  who migrated  to Andhra  , in some parts  called “Dravidas”.

Are highly honoured  in those states and  given their   due place  and have no complaints.
