Being   God    for a day   is tough

There was a servant in a Krishna   temple,
Who was also a great   devotee  of Krishna ,
One day he felt that   legs of the lord ,
Who is always standing must be paining greatly.

He approached   the God one day  when no one was   there,
And told  him , “Oh God , I feel sad   that you are  always  standing,
And would gladly stand in your place   for one entire day,
So that   you can take rest , get relaxed    and come back.

Then God Krishna told  him, “It seems to be a very  good idea,
Bu can you stand like  me  without moving   for one entire day,
And with a smile bless  all devotees   who come to salute you,
And also never   speak   a single word   whatever  happens before you?”

The devotee   agreed   and  stood in place of   the lord in the temple,
Things were going  wonderfully  and then a   very rich man came,
And put in the  Hundi  some money  but went back by leaving his purse ,
And he was followed by a very poor man  , who had  only one rupee  with him.

The poor man put all that  he had in the Hindi and saw  the purse left there,
And thought that  it was a present  of God to him  and took it with him.
The servant devotee remembered  God’s condition and did not  speak a word,
And then came a naval merchant   who was to go  on a trip   that   day in his ship.

He prayed God for his safety and at that time the rich merchant   who had left his purse,
Came there along with police, falsely accused   the naval merchant  and got him arrested,
And  he also thanked  God   for helping him to find out  the person who took his money.
And then Servant devotee who was  God shouted, “No he did not  take your money  ,
For it was taken by the poor man   who  came here   to pray his   god.”

When the temple doors closed   for night  , God  came and  and thanked the devotee,
Ans asked  him to narrate  all that happened   as if he did not know  and when informed,
He chided the devotee and told him, “The rich man  isengaged in cheating people,
And wanted my help  to cheat more people   and I had decided to make g him to a good deed.”

“The poor man had  come to give all  he had to me  and I wanted to  help him,
And  I wanted to prevent the  naval merchant     from going today  ,
AS a storm would blow   today in the sea   and he would loose everything ,
Thus You spoiled all my good plans”  and the devotee  fell at his feet  and craved  for his pardon.

Then the God consoled  him and told him  , “ Please  understand  that,
There  is a deeper meaning   in everything I do, which  humans cannot understand,
Every minute of my time  I am spending  to the good of you all,
If I take away some thing   or if I give something , It is always for your good.
