Curses  or Saapams of India

(I do not much about this but saw an exhaustive Tamil  write  up. This is a simple  English translation.  The original Tamil  write up is given at the end of translation)

   Saapam or curse is an ancient personal  punishment   in Hinduism. There we read God Giving Saapa to asura, God to his wife , Father  to his son, sage   to the king and so on, During the life of current generation , this has been made   greatly popular  by astrologers. Along with costly Pariharas .Here is a list  given. I am not aware  of them except Guru Saapa  and Pithru Saapa.

There  are 13 type of Saapa(curses ) mentioned in Hinduism

1.Curse  of a lady (Sthri  Saapa)

2.Curse  of the  dead body  (Pretha  Saapa)

3.Curse  of Guru (Guru Saapam)

4.Curse  of the serpent  (Sarpa Saapam)

5.Curse  of our manes  (Pithru Saapam)

6.Curse  of the cow  (Go Saapam)

7.Curse  of the earth  (Bhoo saapam)

8.Curse  of the ganges (Ganga  Saapam)

9.Curse  of the tree  (Vruksha  Saapam)

10.Curse  of Devas(  Deva Saapam)

11.Curse  of muni (Muni Saapam)

12.Curse of Kula Daiva( clan god)  (Kula Daiva saapam)

Let us   see in detail  how you get them and what is their effect

1.Curse of the Lady

   Reason:-Deceiving or insulting  a lady, Raping a lady, not respecting sisters  and deserting or torturing wife

   Result:- our family    would get destroyed.

2.Curse  of the corpse

Reason:=  Insulting a corpse, not allowing its last rites to be carried out and preventing its near and dear ones  from seeing it.

Result:  Our life span would get  reduced  and we will meet an unnatural  death

3 Curse  of a Guru

Reason:-Forgetting and insulting our Guru, misusing what he has taught to us , hiding  what we have learnt.

Result:-WE will forget what we have learnt and we  would loose our prosperity

4.Curse  of the serpents

Reason:-  Killing serpents  without need , destroying the places   they live.

Result:-  Not being ale to get married, Not able to produce children

5.Curse  of manes(Dead ancestors)

Reason :-Neglecting and not looking after our parents and grand parents. Not doing proper  death ritual as well as Annul  ritual for them

Result :- No male children being born in family  , Children dying  for unknown reasons, Ill health   of babies in the family

6.Curse  of the cow

Reason :- killing of cows, taking away the calf from the cow, Not giving water  to cow when it is thirsty

Result:-  lack of  any type of growth in the family

7.Curse  of the earth

Reason:- Digging and spoiling earth without necessity, Usurping land belonging to others

Result:- Suffering   great pains in this world as well as in hell

8.Curse  of Ganges

Reason:-Wasting water, dirtying rivers and ponds

Result:-  You may not get water   when you need it  or when you are  thirsty

9.Curse  of the tree

Reason:-  Cutting a living tree, killing fruit bearing tree, Burning trees

Result  :- You would become sick  and you would be taking loan which you would find difficult to pay back.

10.Curse of Devas

Reason:-Stopping worship done in  the family, Stopping others  from doing  worship, stealing God’s idols

Result:- Relations would quareel with you and desert you

11,Curse  of the sages

Reason:- Insulting sages, priests   and Brahmins

Result  :- Your entire   family would perish

12, Curse of Village Gods

 Reason:- Not worshipping or insulting village  gods

Result You would suffer   due to black magic

13,Curse of Kula Deiva

Reason:- Forgetting   to worship our family or clan God

Result :- The entire family would never be happy and quareel among themselves always

  Whatever devotion we show to God  when we do  Acts which hurt others and get their curse, It would completly destroy you.

அவற்றை ஒவ்வொன்றாக பார்க்கலாம் :-

1) பெண் சாபம் :-

இது எப்படி ஏற்படுகிறது என்றால், பெண்களை ஏமாற்று வதும், சகோதரிகளை ஆதரிக்காமல் இருப்பதாலும், மனைவியைக் கைவிடுவதாலும் வருகிறது.

# பெண் சாபம் ஏற்பட்டால் வம்சம் அழியும் #

2) பிரேத சாபம் :-

இறந்த மனிதனின் உடலை வைத்துக்கொண்டு அவரை இழிவாகப் பேசுவதும், அவருடைய உடலைத் தாண்டுவதும், பிணத்தின் இறுதி காரியங்களை செய்யவிடாமல் தடுப்பதும், இறந்தவரை வேண்டியவர்கள் பார்க்க அனுமதி மறுப்பதும் பிரேத சாபத்தை ஏற்படுத்தும்.

# பிரேத சாபத்தால் ஆயுள் குறையும் #

3) பிரம்ம சாபம் :-

நமக்கு வித்தை கற்றுக்கொடுத்த குருவை மறப்பது,
வித்தையை தவறாக பயன்படுத்துவது,மற்றவர்களுக்கு சொல்லிக் கொடுக்காமல் ஒரு வித்தையை மறைத்து வைப்பது,இவற்றான காரணங்களால், பிரம்ம சாபம் ஏற்படுகிறது

# பிரம்ம சாபத்தால், வித்யா நஷ்டம் அதாவது, படிப்பு இல்லாமல் போகும் #

4) சர்ப்ப சாபம் :-

பாம்புகளை தேவையின்றி கொல்வதாலும் அவற்றின் இருப்பிடங்களை அழிப்பதாலும்,
சர்ப்ப சாபம்
உண்டாகும்.

# இதனால், கால-சர்ப்ப தோஷமும் ஏற்பட்டு திருமணத் தடை ஏற்படும் #

5) பித்ரு சாபம்:-

முன்னோர்களுக்கு செய்யவேண்டிய திதி மற்றும் தர்ம காரியங்களை செய்யாமல் மறப்பதும், தாய்- தந்தை தாத்தா-பாட்டி போன்றோரை உதாசீனப்படுத்துவதும் , அவர்களை ஒதுக்கி வைப்ப
வைப்பதும், பித்ரு சாபத்தை ஏற்படுத்தும்.

# பித்ரு சாபம் பாலாரிஷ்ட சாபத்தையும் ஏற்படுத்தி, வம்சத்தில் ஆண் குழந்தை பிறக்காமல் போவது, குழந்தைகள் இறந்துபோவது போன்றவற்றை ஏற்படுத்தும் #

6) கோ சாபம் :-

பசுவை வதைப்பது, பால் மரத்த பசுவை வெட்டக் கொடுப்பது கன்றுடன் கூடிய பசுவைப் பிரிப்பது , தாகத்தால் பசு தவிக்கும் போது தண்ணீர் கொடுக்காதது போன்ற காரணங்களால் கோ சாபம் ஏற்படும்.

# இதனால், குடும்பத்திலோ வம்சத்திலோ எவ்வித வளர்ச்சியும் இல்லாமல் போகும் #

7) பூமி சாபம் :-

ஆத்திரத்தில் பூமியை சதா காலால் உதைப்பதும், பாழ்படுத்துவதும், ப்ளாஸ்டிக் பொருட்களைப் போட் டுப் புதைப்பதும், தேவையற்ற பள்ளங்களை உண்டு பண்ணுவதும், அடுத்தவர் பூமியைப் பறிப்பதும் பூமி சாபத்தை உண்டாக்கும்.

# பூமிசாபம் நரகவேதனையைக் கொடுக்கும் #

8) கங்கா சாபம் :-

பலர் அருந்தக்கூடிய நீரை பாழ் செய்வதாலும், ஓடும் நதியை அசுத்தம் செய்வதாலும், கங்கா சாபம் வரும்.

# கங்கா சாபத்தால் எவ்வளவு தோண்டினாலும் நீர் கிடைக்காது #

9) விருட்ச சாபம் :-

பச்சை மரத்தை வெட்டுவதும், கனி கொடுக்கும் மரத்தை பட்டுப்போகச் செய்வதும், மரத்தை எரிப்பதும், மரங்கள் சூழ்ந்த இடத்தை, வீடு கட்டும் மனையாக்குவதும் விருட்ச சாபத்தை ஏற்படுத்தும்.

# விருட்ச சாபத்தினால், கடன் மற்றும் நோய் உண்டாகும் #

10) தேவ சாபம் :-

தெய்வங்களின் பூஜையைப் பாதியில் நிறுத்துவது, தெய்வங்களை இகழ்வது போன்ற காரணங்களால், தேவ சாபம் ஏற்படும்.

# தேவ சாபத்தால் உறவினர்கள் பிரிந்துவிடுவர் #

11) ரிஷி சாபம் :-

இது கலியுகத்தில் ஆச்சார்ய புருஷர்களையும் உண்மையான பக்தர்களையும் அவமதிப்பது போன்றவற்றால் ஏற்படும்.

# ரிஷி சாபத்தால், வம்சம் அழியும் #

12) முனி சாபம் :-

எல்லைதெய்வங்கள், மற்றும் சின்னசின்ன தெய்வங்களுக்கு வழங்க வேண்டிய மரியாதைகளையும் பூஜையையும் மறப்பது முனி சாபத்தை ஏற்படுத்தும்.

# முனி சாபத்தால் செய்வினைக் கோளாறு எற்படும் #

13) குலதெய்வ சாபம் :-

இது நமது முன்னோர்கள் பூஜித்த தெய்வத்தை மறக்காமல் இருப்பது.

# குலதெய்வ சாபத்தால் குடும்பத்தில் ஒரு போதும் மகிழ்ச்சி ஏற்படாமல் போகும்ஒருவித துக்கம் சூழ்ந்துகொள்ளும் #

# சாபம் என்பது நல்லவர்களுக்கு வரமாக மாறும்
தீயவர்களை அழிக்கும்

எவ்வளவு வரங்கள் பெற்றாலும், தாங்கள் பெற்ற வரத்தின் பலத்தால், நல்லவர்களை ஒரு போதும் அழிக்க முடியாது.

ஆனால், ஆற்றாமல் அழுது பதறிய நெஞ்சிலிருந்து வந்த வார்த்தை சாபமாக மாறினால் எப்பேற்பட்ட வலிமையான மனிதனையும் உரு தெரியாமல் அழித்து விடும் #
